Letter from the President:

Shipmates:

I would like to thank everybody who has signed up for the reunion in Mobile. We are hoping to have a great turnout thanks to Al Sniff's hard work. Don't forget about the cruise that Dick Lemon is putting together for us. All the information is on the website or later in this newsletter. I would like to thank our Vice President, Skip McCarroll for picking up the slack when Steve Elledge had to leave.

I would also like for everyone to keep in their prayers and thoughts the shipmates we have lost this year and also the money and medical problems some have had. Many of them will come this year and some will not be able to attend. I don't ask for any type of money as a rule, but when the dues come due, if you could give an extra 5 or 10 dollars to help us put back in the shipmates fund it would be greatly appreciated. You never know when one of us will need help. We have helped some shipmates this year with the board's approval. It really makes you feel good when this happens.

During the year I have received several e-mails on where we want to go next year. The top three have been: NEW ORLEANS, ST. LOUIS, AND COLORADO SPRINGS. Please keep in mind if you have any ides please bring them up at the reunion.

I would like to thank Pat Joseph for all of her hard work with her group. The Ladies Auxiliary will be a big plus for us and the Association. If any of the wives would like to sign up, please get in touch with Pat. She can be reached by email at: webmaster@ussbelknap.com?

Al Sniff has donated raffle items from various businesses in Mobile. If any of our shipmates can donate raffle items it will be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to have some feedback on what direction you would like the Association to go and what folks expect. All e-mails will be answered.

The last thing, be careful driving or flying and get to Mobile safe.

President (66-68)
